A MUST! Due to the variety of foods and ingredients it is best to keep your pet on the SAME diet they are used to. Camp can be stressful (just like being away from home can be for us!) and changing diet can cause or increase tummy issues.
Can I bring their bed?
You may NOT bring your dog's bed.
You MAY bring a BLANKET or fleece: NO holes, twin size or smaller with no stuffing or fill. We do our best to care for them, but on occasion they do get destroyed and we cannot be held responsible for this happening.
What if my dog has a special diet?
We can accommodate specialty diets (within reason). Refrigeration is available. PLEASE do not change their regular diet for their stay.
Do you staff 24-hours a day?
The dogs are put to bed by 9pm and the staff goes home to their beds. The dogs have had a VERY busy day and need their undisturbed sleep. We believe that pets sleep better when everything is peaceful and quiet.
Can my dogs share accommodations?
Paws and Claws requires individual overnight accommodations for each pet, for their safety and well-being. We do this because pets act differently when away from home, as well as:
If one wants to sleep and the other does not
If one is exceptionally tired and possibly irritable
If one has an “accident” or is ill, we will know which dog to assess
If there were an “accident,” the other isn’t subjected
Possession issues of beds, toys, and/or “roommate”
Inability to “escape” from each other
There is no discount for shared accommodations
For your pet’s comfort
Do you administer medications?
YES! We will get detailed instructions at drop-off. Please have medications in ORIGINAL container and be able to tell us what they are for. However, we DO NOT give injectable medications (i.e. insulin).
DO NOT put meds in with food! Your pet may not eat according to his or her regular schedule, and sometimes food gets spilled. Please let us administer any necessary medications to be certain they have been taken, rather than adding them to your pet’s prepackaged food.
